“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.”
― Carl Gustav Jung

Life is the unfolding of choices, every choice we make has an effect and directs our steps. You can’t get through a lifetime and not look back at choices and label them ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ In many instances, we know that we are making a bad decision at the moment. But the beauty of this is that as long as we draw breath, we always have the ability to make a new choice.

Allowing ourselves to be defined by the choices of the past is self-harming behavior. We’re always one choice away from a new life. You are not the events or circumstances that have happened to you, you are exactly what you choose to be in every new moment that life presents.

Right now, you can choose to become the person you’ve always wanted to be, to choose a life that best suits your natural talents and abilities, and that supports and nurtures you in every way. Showing up for yourself and others in the way you determine is a validation of the real you.

Choose to identify with the good qualities that you exhibit, with your natural talents, with the things that light you up in your life. Let go of the stories that swirl around you that you let define, you’re not what happened to you, you’re the one who can step out and rewrite your narrative by making new choices.
